Volunteer
As an ADSNY volunteer, you will deepen your connection to New York’s Art Deco scene through in person or remote volunteer roles that fit your schedule while gaining unique behind-the-scenes access and networking with fellow enthusiasts, historians, architects, designers, and preservation professionals in the ADSNY community.
Volunteers are the lifeblood of not-for-profit organizations such as ADSNY. Our devoted volunteers help us to fulfill our mission and allow us to offer a rich variety of programs and resources for members and Art Deco enthusiasts everywhere. Volunteers are always needed and very much appreciated. Below is an overview of a few ways that you can help ADSNY. For more information, please fill out the form at the bottom of the page.

Communications
Write monthly Deco Doings and email blasts, promote events; prepare videos or articles for the ArtDeco.org website; photograph or video programs.

Social Media/Digital Engagement
Help grow and energize ADSNY’s online presence. Develop and post engaging content sharing the beauty and stories of New York’s Art Deco heritage across key platforms.

Event Planning
Plan in person and virtual programs, reach out to speakers, tour leaders, venues, museums and institutions; participate in guest check-in, hospitality, and on-site assistance.

Membership
Help grow ADSNY’s membership, attract and welcome new members, encourage renewals, execute membership campaigns and seek corporate partnerships.

Preservation
Alert ADSNY on timely preservation issues, identify important preservation needs, attend and/or present testimony at preservation meetings as needed.

Registry and Map
Be a Deco Detective and research existing buildings on ADSNY’s Art Deco Registry and Map database and add new Art Deco buildings to the listing.

Development
Help research, identify, and find new funding opportunities and sponsorships to allow ADSNY to grow, serve more people and create lasting change.

Educational Outreach
Expand the Documenting Deco educational program by to additional New York City schools and youth centers, educators, teaching artists; seek funding opportunities.

Community Outreach
Expand our Telling the Art Deco Stories of our Neighborhoods (TADS) program to senior centers, public libraries and community centers.

Graphic Design
Shape ADSNY’s visual identity by designing online and print materials reflecting Art Deco elegance for events, membership, preservation, and outreach campaigns.

Art Deco Book List
Help ADSNY update and research the latest publications and monitor the latest scholarship for important new additions to the Art Deco Book List.

Jazz Age Order
Help plan and execute social and networking programming for ADSNY’s group of young professionals ages 30 and under 30 with special, engaging programming..
