Volunteers are the lifeblood of not-for-profit organizations such as the Art Deco Society of New York. Our devoted volunteers help us to fulfill our mission and allow us to offer a rich variety of programs and resources for members and Art Deco enthusiasts everywhere. Contact the press and various social media influencers; write monthly Deco Doings and promotional copy; prepare videos or articles for the ArtDeco.org website; photograph or video programs.
Help create and execute individual and corporate membership campaigns, seek corporate partnerships. Help come up with innovative ways to reach new audiences.
Research and find funding opportunities for ADSNY through grants and sponsorships.
Help design print and web-based materials.
Lectures & Book Talks
Help plan and execute lectures and book talks by contacting speakers, selecting and arranging venues, developing marketing and promotional materials, helping to organize receptions, and assisting at events.
Alert ADSNY on timely preservation issues, identify important preservation needs, attend and/or present testimony at preservation meetings as needed.
Expand the Documenting Deco educational program by contacting additional New York City schools. Reach out to colleges and universities and professional educational institutions throughout the city.
Art Deco Book List
Keep ADSNY up to speed on the latest publications and monitor the latest scholarship for potential additions to the Art Deco Book List.
Walking & Bus Tours
Help plan and execute walking and bus tours by contacting architectural historians and tour guides, reaching out to bus companies, developing marketing and promotional materials, and assisting during events.
Registry and Map
Become a Deco Detective and help ADSNY find relevant Art Deco buildings to be added to the New York Art Deco Registry and Map. Research buildings pending inclusion.
Contact offices of the Borough Presidents, representatives, and community organizations for support and potential partnerships.
Jazz Age Order
Help plan and execute social, networking, and educational programming for ADSNY’s group of young professionals ages 21––35. Help ADSNY come up with innovative ways to reach individuals in this age group.
