In light of the rapidly changing situation surrounding COVID-19, the Art Deco Society of New York has suspended all in-person programs and will be offering safe event options for you to enjoy from your own home. 

 

These web-based presentations will be hosted through Zoom and will each include a live PowerPoint, presented by distinguished experts-––with wonderful images that you will be able to see directly on your computer screen, tablet, or mobile device-––as well as a Q&A session with participants, just like the format of our in-person talks. 

These online events will give those of you who live outside of New York and the United States, the opportunity to participate in ADSNY's rich programming. To learn more about Zoom, please scroll down.

How to Register for ADSNY's Web-based programs

• Start by selecting the event you would like to enjoy from our Programs webpage

• Hover over the event image for a brief overview of the event and click the "Learn More" link for the full program details and to register

• To register, click the gold "Register" button located on the left of the event information page

• Enter the requested information in the registration form and follow the instructions to pay online and complete your registration

• In a few moments, you will receive an email confirmation of your registration

• Several days before the program, you will receive an email with the link and password to join your Zoom event

How to Sign into ADSNY's Web-based programs

• If this is your first Zoom event, we recommend logging into the Zoom meeting 5–10 minutes prior to the event, to make sure you have everything working correctly

• To sign in, click the link in the email that you received from ADSNY for the event and follow the instructions as prompted

• Depending how early you are, may receive a message stating "Please wait, The Webinar will begin soon"

• When the event begins, your screen will automatically shift to the Webinar and you will be able to see the speaker and their PowerPoint

How to ask a question during the Web-based programs

• If you have a question or need assistance with zoom during the presentation click the "Raise Hand" button located in the middle of the bar at the bottom of your screen

• An ADSNY host will contact you directly, through the chat feature, to answer your question and help

• When the ADSNY host contacts you, the "Chat" icon, located in the middle of the bar at the bottom of your screen, will flash

• Click the "Chat" icon and the chat window will open and allow you to communicate directly with the ADSNY host

How to ask a question during the Q&A of ADSNY's Web-based programs

• Please hold your questions about the program topic until the speaker is ready to take questions from the audience

• If you have a question once the Q&A has started, simply click the "Q&A" button located in the middle of the bar at the bottom of your screen, which will open the Q&A text box

• Click the "Type your question here" text box, type the question that you have for the speaker, and click "Send" to submit your question

• Questions will then be repeated by the ADSNY host or the speaker so that everyone in the audience knows the question, and the speaker will answer for all to hear
