VENICE SIMPLON-ORIENT-EXPRESS HI-RES CMY

A work of art in itself and a true Art Deco icon, the legendary Venice Simplon-Orient-Express is one of the world’s most famous luxury trains. Step aboard and experience truly elegant travel, wrapped in timeless romance.

Adventure and style are all intimately bound in journeys that crisscross Europe, rolling through sublime scenery to some of the continent’s most alluring cities. Its range of journeys include the classic one-night London to Venice route, passing through stunning Alpine scenery and, once a year, an unforgettable six-day odyssey from Paris to Istanbul.

Each carriage has a glamorous history dating from the early 20th century. The vintage details are delightful: for instance, in some cabins special hooks to hang and protect pocket watches can still be seen, as can foldable brass candle holders. All the wood panelling is between 50 and 90 years old––historic timber has been used to restore the carriages and ensure the vintage character of the train is maintained. The ivory-coloured material used in René Prou’s art deco marquetry––cellulose that was used to make luxury glasses in the 1930s––can only be bought from one remaining European supplier. Lalique glass panels depicting Bacchanalian maidens grace Dining Car 4141. Here, and in the other two beautiful restaurants, gastronomic cuisine prepared by Executie Chef Christian Bodiguel and his team is a highlight of every journey.

This is an exceptional train: a time capsule, a dream; a chance to dress up, socialise and relive the golden age of travel. We are all custodians of this legendary train and with everyone’s dedication and support, the magic of the train is kept alive.
